General
- What are the advantages of purchasing a website template?
- The major advantage is price: You get a high quality website design for just $20-$70. You don't have to hire a web designer or web design studio which can cost thousands for a site of the same quality. Second advantage is time frame: It usually takes 5-15 days for a good designer to produce a web page of such quality.
- What do I receive when I order a template?
- After you complete the payment via our secure form, then you will receive a confirmation email with link(s) to download .zip(s). The .zip file(s) contains the following: PSD file(s), HTML file(s), fonts and advanced clipart library.
You will need unzipping software to open the .zip archive. Windows users may visit www.HotScripts.com or www.winzip.com. Mac users may visit www.StuffIt.com.
- In what formats are your templates available?
- Website templates are available in Photoshop and HTML formats. Fonts are included with Photoshop file(s). In most templates, the HTML is compatible with Adobe GoLive, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.
- What am I allowed and not allowed to do with the templates?
- You may:
- Build a website using the template in any way you like.
- Resell or redistribute the templates that you purchase.
- Claim intellectual or exclusive ownership to any of our products, modified or unmodified. All products are property of content providing companies and individuals.
- Make more than one project using the same template (you have to purchase the same template again in order to make another project with the same design).
- What is the difference between an unique and a non-unique purchase?
- NON-UNIQUE PURCHASE:Non-unique or non-exclusive purchase means that other people can still buy the template you have chosen.
UNIQUE PURCHASE:
A unique or exclusive purchase guarantees that you are the last person to buy this template. After an exclusive purchase occurs the template is permanently removed from the sales directory and will never be available to other customers again. Only you and people who bought the template before you will own it.
- Does it make sense to make a unique purchase of a template that has already been purchased?
- Yes. Because the Internet is so vast it is highly unlikely that your or a site visitor will come across the other sites with the same design. However, if you want to ensure that you are the only one with a particular design then we recommend viewing the never downloaded category and making a unique purchase of one of the listed designs.
- I was wondering if you could give me the contact information for a particular designer?
- Sorry, company policy prohibits direct contact with contractually obliged designers.
- Is it possible to use your templates to develop websites for my customers?
- Absolutely. Templates are perfect for designers who want to offer their customers high-quality designs but save time and money. Note: When you purchase the template with either a unique or non-unique licence you're entitled to create only one project (one domain name).
- Is the installation service included in the purchase of a template?
- Some of our products like osCommerce templates, Zen Cart templates, etc. require installation to operate. Installation services are not included in the package price. Please contact us to find out whether we will be able to install the specific product for you.
Modifying your Template
- How can I modify or customize a template to suit my particular brand?
- We strongly recommend Template Tuning for all your customization needs. However, if you would prefer to modify the purchased template yourself because your changes are simple or that you already understand basic web code and file structure, please see our Web Template Customization Tutorials to get detailed information about how web templates are assembled, what to expect when you download one, and how to customize aspects like fonts, colors, images, and more.
- Are your templates Microsoft FrontPage compatible?
- Most of our templates come with HTML that is compatible with Adobe's GoLive and Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Frontpage. Please check the 'sources available' field in the template preview window to determine whether a particular template is compatible.
- What is Adobe Photoshop?
- Adobe Photoshop is the world's most popular graphics editing package. You can find more information about Photoshop and download a free trial version at the Adobe website.
- What software do you recommend for making/modifying HTML?
- We think that Dreamweaver is the best.
- How can I modify Flash portions of the template?
- You will need to use Adobe's Flash software to edit animated part of the template.
- When I try to open the Flash .fla file, I get an error 'Unexpected file format'.
- This means that the .fla file is incompatible with your Flash version. Please install the latest version of Flash to edit this file or get in touch with our support personnel to have the file converted to appropriate version.
- Can I edit Flash templates in Swish?
- No. Our Flash templates can be edited only with Adobe Flash.
- Can I change the pictures on the Flash animated website and put my own pictures instead?
- Absolutely. We strongly recommend Template Tuning for all your modification needs.
Purchasing & Returning a Template
- Is the license a one-time fee payment?
- Yes, the payment for your template is a one-time fee without any additional charges. After purchasing you may use the template for one website. If you would like to use the template on multiple websites you must re-purchase each time.
- Is it possible for me to pay one price and have access to all downloads for a certain amount of time?
- Sorry, we do not provide membership based services.
- I would like to pay by company cheque. Is that possible?
- Unfortunately we do not currently accept company cheques for purchases. Please use MoneyBookers payment option. They accept payments by cheque.
- What is your return policy?
- Since our company is offering non-tangible irrevocable goods we do not issue refunds after the product is purchased, which you are responsible for understanding upon purchasing any item at our site. Please make sure that you've carefully read the 'sources available' section before purchasing. We only make exceptions to this rule when the product appears to be not-as-described on a case by case basis in agreement of the parties concerned. The deadline for any refund claim is one week after the purchase.
- I ordered a template but haven't received the download information.
- In this case please contact our Support Department using one of the methods listed on our support page.
- I think I was billed twice. I received 2 emails from you.
- Make sure that these charges have different order IDs. If they have the same order ID then you simply received the email twice. If the order numbers are different please contact our billing department at billing@a1websitetemplates.com.
- Is it possible to reactivate my download link after it has been deactivated?
- A download link is only active for 3 days after the purchase of a template. However if you contact our billing department (billing@a1websitetemplates.com) they will reactivate your link.
- Is it possible to purchase a template that is no longer available on your site.
- No. The template has been removed for the site because someone made a 'Unique' or exclusive purchase. Please look for similar templates in our collection!
- What is the best place to find photos/images for modification of my template?
- We recommend iStockPhoto for purchasing stock photography.
Affiliates
- What is involved with becoming an affiliate?
- Becoming an A1 Website Templates affiliate is easy! Simply sign-up for an account and we will send you an email with your login information so you can quickly get started.
- How much money can I make as an affiliate?
- You will earn 20% commission on all sales originating from your site. Depending on your marketing efforts and the quantity and quality of traffic to your website you can make a significate income. For an example of earning potential please see our affiliate sign-up page.
- How often are commissions paid?
- Commissions are paid upon your request and after you earn at least $100. You can make a request for the payment by pressing the "Withdraw money" button in your affiliate account.
- How do I access my account information after becoming an affiliate?
- Once you are an affiliate, simply use the login information we will provide you and login at our affiliate login page.
- I don't know HTML code. Is it difficult to include templates on my website?
- It's easy to get started selling templates today! When you become an affiliate we will provide you with everything you need including JavaScript code snippets that you can simply copy and paste into your website. We even provide complete ready-made template shops that you can download and use immediately.
- Will you provide support services to my customers?
- Yes! You will have access to our 24/7 live chat, our online ticket system, and email support. We will also provide you with FAQ and Terms of Use pages.
- Can I put low resolution thumbnails of templates on my website for my clients to choose designs?
- Yes. Also available from the affiliate interface are scripts that will add thumbnails to your site.
